Keith Davis
Keith has roamed around through many regions, covering numerous fisheries, in his seven year observing career- he has experience in the North Pacific (Groundfish, Crab), South East (Pelagic Longlining), North Atlantic (Scallops), and the Pacific Islands (Pelagic Longlining). Keith has also spent 15 months in the NMFS Honolulu office from 2004-2005, where he debriefed observers and helped with observer trainings. He has also participated in the last three International Observer Conferences in St. John's '2000, New Orleans '2002, and in Sydney '2004.Keith has found his niche in the APO with editing the Mail Buoy quarterly newsletter. He's excited about helping to bring together several voices with different perspectives to produce a cohesive media. Keith looks forward to improving the presentation of the Mail Buoy with diverse material and visual stimuli to keep the reader interested. With the Observer Working Groups and with the help of ObserverNet, Keith wishes to help strengthen and organize the observer voice at the forthcoming International Observer Conference in Victoria. Improving communication (networking among all regional management teams and the National Observer Program).and standardization will continue to remain a major focus of Keith's work with the APO.
